Hot off the press: £400 towards the cost of a new boiler with the boiler scrappage scheme - but act fast!
Monday 1st March 2010.

Southampton City Council has launched a new scheme to help private tenants and landlords secure £400 towards the cost of installing a new, more efficient gas boiler - but you’ll have to move quick as this offer is only available for a limited time.
The boiler scrappage scheme is open to homeowners, tenants and landlords who have a boiler with an official ‘G’ rating for energy efficiency, which means it’s likely to be over 15 years old or have a permanent pilot light.
If your existing boiler is still in working order and is the property’s principal heating source you could qualify for £400 towards a new one, which could help reduce carbon emissions and your heating bills by 25%.
The boiler scrappage scheme is available to the first 125,000 households that apply so get your application in fast.
